March 2026 Edition

Monthly Recognitions: Our Standout Team Members
We have some incredible people keeping the mountain safe and running smoothly this month. Please join us in thanking these individuals for their stellar contributions.

Paid Patroller of the Month: Jeff Boatman
Jeff has been an absolute powerhouse, working six days a week and jumping into projects wherever needed. He was the first to finish his 30-day requirements and has officially earned the title of Snowmobile Master. Whether he’s filling in gaps or leading a project, Jeff does it all with a great attitude.

Volunteer Patroller of the Month: Vim Nademanee
Vim has been a constant presence on the mountain, responding to a high volume of 1042s and often working right through lunch to ensure coverage. His dedication to training and his infectious laugh make the mountain a better place for both guests and fellow patrollers.

Mountain Host of the Month: Joyce Murphy
When Joyce saw gaps in the schedule due to cancellations during a busy stretch, she didn’t hesitate. She stepped up and provided crucial support in the Plaza and across the resort. Her initiative helped the patrol and our guests stay on track!

Upcoming Dates & Information
March is a heavy event month! We are looking for volunteers for the following dates to ensure both our special events and our daily mountain operations are fully covered.

March 6, 7, & 8 | Dodge Ridge Race Weekend
Dodge is hosting a race and we need volunteers to help cover the course or provide additional patrol support on the mountain.

March 14 | OEC MSP
We need a strong showing of volunteers to help run the event and many others to cover the mountain while the event is in progress.

March 18 | Board Meeting
Our monthly board meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. More information to follow.

March 21 | Hot Dog-a-Palooza Potluck
Join us at noon at the top of 7 & 8 for our potluck lunch! Please sign up using the link provided in your email so we can coordinate food.

March 21 | Target Meeting
Our Target meeting will follow immediately after mountain closing.

Patrol Reminders: Professionalism & Protocol
As we move into the busy spring season, let’s keep our standards high and our operations seamless.

On-Duty vs. Off-Duty Boundaries
There is a significant difference in how we interact with guests depending on our status. When you are off-duty and out of uniform, please avoid communicating with injured guests in the patrol room.
The Issue: Guests often do not know who you are when you’re out of uniform; unsolicited communication can cause confusion, as they may not realize you are a patroller.
The Protocol: If you are off-duty and there are guests in the aid room, please get what you need quickly and move through without communicating with the patients.

Other News:
Trudy Nye Memorial Fund:
Tax Deductible Donation: If you would like to make a donation, please do so through the Far West Division treasurer.
What it’s for: Support the FWD women’s program, which was one of Trudy’s passions.

A Note from Leadership: “The strength of this patrol is our ability to support one another. Let’s carry that energy through these big events in March!”
