Welcome to the upcoming season, team! As we gear up for winter, please read through the important updates below regarding our upcoming Refresher Weekend, MOU benefits, and required certifications.

❄️ Annual Refresher Weekend: October 17th – 18th
CRITICAL MANDATE: Ensure all your online refresher modules are fully completed prior to arriving on Saturday, October 17th.

📅 Saturday, October 17: OEC/OFC Refresher & Awards Banquet
7:00 AM — Instructors & Board Members arrive for setup.

8:00 AM — Sign-in begins.

8:40 AM — Morning Meeting (Schedule overview & GM address).

9:00 AM — OEC Refresher/OFC Skills Kickoff (9 station rotations).

12:30 PM – 1:00 PM — Lunch Break.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM — Remaining OEC Refresher/OFC stations.

3:00 PM — Refresher wraps up.

💳 Annual Dues Breakdown
Below is the local and regional dues breakdown for the upcoming season. (Note: National NSP dues are paid separately via the National Ski Patrol portal). Bring Cash, check, or PayPal to check in on Saturday.

🏆 Annual Awards Banquet
Join us as we celebrate and recognize the incredible dedication and hard work of our patrollers from this past season

Location: Mia’s (30040 CA-108, Cold Springs, CA 95335)

Cost: $25 per person

5:00 PM — No-Host Bar opens

6:00 PM — Dinner served

7:00 PM — Awards ceremony begins

📅 Sunday, October 18: On-the-Hill Training
8:30 AM — Sign-in.

8:50 AM — Group Photo (📸 Remember to bring your patrol vest!).

9:10 AM — Stations Begin

Station 1: Lift Evacuation.

Station 2: Jake Rig, Ropes, & CPR Rotation.

12:20 PM — Station completion, site clean-up, and departure.

📝 MOU & Benefits Updates
We have officially signed our MOUs for both Hosts and Patrollers for the upcoming season. Key details include:

Food VoucherStandard $22 lunch credit remains in effect.
Ticket Vouchers• Patrollers: Earn 2 tickets upon working your first day within the first 2 weeks of opening.• Hosts: Earn 1 ticket upon working your first day within the first 2 weeks of opening.
Rollover TicketsVouchers earned during the closing weekend of last season (March 14–15, 2026) roll over and are valid for this season. This policy will remain in place for the upcoming closing weekend as well.
NEW: Host ShiftsManagement has approved a half-day A.M. shift option for Hosts. This grants a half-day shift credit (no ticket/food benefits included) and will be added to our standard Policies & Procedures.


⚠️ Important Info on Missed Refresher & CPR Requirements
CPR Certification: This is a CPR Skills Review Year. NSP policy mandates that every member demonstrates CPR skills annually. If you cannot attend Saturday, please contact Bill or myself directly to schedule a demonstration.

On-the-Hill Makeup: If you cannot attend Sunday’s session on October 18th, you must make up the On-the-Hill portion. You may attend any other OEC Refresher to receive credit—please review the schedule on the Far West Division OEC page to find an upcoming course.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on October 17th for a great kickoff weekend! Pray for snow!
